What are the benefits of buying a new construction home vs. an existing home?

With the ability to customize your floor plan and make selections for your dream home, new construction homes offer many benefits. When purchasing an existing home, you may run the risk of sacrificing things on your wish list. Alternatively, you might find buying one of our completed move-in ready homes an easy option when looking for a new home! There are many benefits of a quick move-in home. With our professional design team, each home is built with the homeowner in mind. We choose quality features and upgrades for each home that we know you'll love. You will have less wait time and fewer decisions to make.

Is there a build schedule that we must adhere to?

Granite Ridge Builders has a simple step-by-step process to guide you through the decision-making and planning of your new home, which ensures that everything will stay on schedule and meet your anticipated move-in date.

How long does the home building process take?

Once construction has begun, it usually takes 6-8 months to build a home. The process of building your dream home depends on many factors including the size of the home, the location of the build, and weather delays. Your Project Manager will be able to give you an estimated completion date once the drywall phase has been completed.

Will your team evaluate my future home site to assure it is right for my new home?

Yes! We are happy to schedule a lot walk with you–at no cost, or obligation. This is the best way to assure that the lot is suitable for building, your home gets situated on your land in the right location, and it helps us determine if there will be any additional excavation costs.

What can I expect at my first appointment with a New Home Specialist?

At your first meeting we will go over your wish list, locations, floor plans, and any questions you may have. We will discuss your needs and budget to begin working on a construction proposal.

I have a home to sell. Do you recommend any real estate agents?

Yes! Granite Ridge Builders has experienced realtors on our team who can help make your transition out of your existing home and into your new home as seamless as possible.

What can I expect at my decorating appointment?

At your decorating appointment, you will meet with one of our Design Coordinators at our 15,000 sq ft Design Center to choose all of the details that will go into your new home. A Design Coordinator will guide you through the process of making your interior and exterior selections. Please bring your wish list, pictures, inspiration, and ideas to your decorating appointment. We also recommend visiting our model homes before your appointment for even more inspiration.

Do you only build single-family homes?

At Granite Ridge Builders we build both single-family and villa homes. When building a new villa home, you have the ability to customize your floor plan and design selections. Many of our Granite Ridge Builders exclusive villa communities offer lawn care and snow removal providing a low-maintenance lifestyle for homeowners.

What type of home warranty do you provide?

We have partnered with the Residential Warranty Company, LLC (RWC) to provide our homeowners with a 10-year new home warranty which includes coverage on major structural components. We also provide a 2-year workmanship warranty, 4-year roof warranty, and additional manufacturers warranties on building materials. At closing you will receive a copy of the RWC handbook that outlines the warranty information. Contact our Customer Care Specialist to request more information on our warranties.

What's included in the base price?

With so many variables involved when building a new home, it's important to begin with a base line of included standard features for each floor plan. Our base price does not include the lot/land, site development, or additional option costs.

Is there any cost or obligation to receive an estimate on my new home?

Granite Ridge Builders will sit down with you to discuss your dream home and get an idea of how much you can invest in your new home–at no cost, or obligation. Our construction proposals are the most detailed in the industry and will provide a very accurate cost of building your new home.
