For Kayla Stuart, homebuilding isn’t just a career, it’s part of who she is. As the Vice President of Sales and Interior Design at Granite Ridge Builders, Kayla has truly grown up with the company, weaving her passion for homes and design into every stage of her life.

A Journey That Begins At Home
Kayla’s story at Granite Ridge Builders started long before she had a job title. “I suppose it began when my mom would take me to client homes when I was just a baby,” she recalls. By grade school and high school, Kayla was already helping stage Granite Ridge Builders’ homes and assisting her mom with clients. That early spark of creativity led her to study design at Purdue Fort Wayne, and in 2009 she began working with her own clients, turning passion into profession.
Celebrating Milestones
One of the proudest moments in Kayla’s career came with the completion of The Monaco. “Finishing the Monaco and seeing everyone’s reactions at the Grand Opening was unforgettable,” she says. It’s moments like those—when vision becomes reality—that remind Kayla why she loves what she does. The most rewarding and challenging part of her job often comes from the same place: problem-solving. “Working through situations that we thought were figured out and finding a solution that’s even better than the original design, it’s the most rewarding feeling.”
Design Without Limits
While some designers develop a clear signature, Kayla doesn’t see herself tied to one look. “I love to fully embrace each and every design style and make the design right for that home,” she explains. “However, I do have plenty of preferences that I think make every home feel and look better.” Her approach is all about flexibility and creativity, ensuring each home is as unique as the family inside it. When it comes to must-have design elements, Kayla’s answer is simple but powerful: “I think every home should have one feature that says something about the owner that you don’t have to explain in words.” For her, the most meaningful design moments come when a home quietly reflects its owner’s personality.
A Lasting Legacy
Looking ahead, Kayla hopes her work leaves a lasting impact. “I want to improve the way people live by what I help them create,” she says. “I want people to recognize that there aren’t right and wrong answers when it comes to design. There are endless possibilities and ways to design spaces that we love.”
It’s a philosophy rooted in openness, creativity, and joy—values that shine through in every home she helps bring to life.
