When we first took you behind the scenes of The Breckenridge Lodge, there were exposed studs, temporary supports, and plenty of imagination involved. Then came the cabinetry, lighting, furniture, and all the details that turned those spaces into something special.
Now, it’s time to see it all come together. We’re stepping inside the finished Breckenridge Lodge at Simon Lake Estates. And while we’ve spent this series sharing what went into creating this home, this time we’re slowing down to enjoy the result.

A Retreat From the Moment You Walk In
The idea behind The Breckenridge Lodge has always been simple: make home feel like a retreat. You can see that vision before you even reach the front door. Natural tones, stone, cedar accents, and oversized porch posts introduce the modern rustic lodge style that carries throughout the home.
Inside, the foyer makes its own first impression. Live-edge wood slabs showcase the natural character of sassafras, walnut, and sycamore, with backlighting that brings out their shapes and textures. It’s the kind of detail that makes you stop for a closer look.
In the great room, a soaring ceiling, a stone fireplace, and illuminated shelving create a space that feels impressive while still inviting you to sit down. Above it all, a suspended wood ceiling feature with concealed lighting adds another layer of warmth, while a sculptural light fixture takes inspiration from tree branches.
A Kitchen Worth Gathering Around
Somehow, everyone always ends up in the kitchen. The Breckenridge Lodge is perfectly happy to accommodate that with two large islands that give space for both meal prepping and people. One provides breakfast bar seating, while the other offers a dedicated place to spread out ingredients, prep dinner, or tackle a baking project.
Pewter green cabinetry pairs with stained knotty hickory, quartzite countertops, and a stacked stone backsplash. A custom wood range hood and appliances tucked behind cabinet fronts help everything feel connected to the home’s architecture.
The butler’s pantry adds another whole layer of functionality. Additional appliances, a built-in coffee maker, and thoughtfully planned storage give everyday essentials a place of their own. Live-edge shelving carries the natural materials into a space that could have easily been treated as an afterthought.

The Room That Lives Up to the Name
If there’s one space that captures the personality of The Breckenridge Lodge, it’s the lodge room. Custom wood trusses stretch across a knotty pine ceiling. Stone walls and a towering fireplace bring texture and scale, while comfortable gathering areas make the room feel ready for company.
The wet bar makes hosting even easier, with beverage refrigerators, an ice maker, a glass rinser, and a glass chiller. Illuminated shelves and a stone backsplash give it just as much character as the room around it. The lodge room is where you can picture a holiday celebration, a winter evening by the fire, or a weekend gathering that lasts a little longer than planned
Your Own Place to Unwind
The primary suite takes the retreat idea seriously. With approximately 1,335 square feet devoted to the bedroom, private retreat, bathroom, and two closets, it offers plenty of room to slow down.
The bedroom features a stone fireplace, wood accents, and a tray ceiling with sassafras beams. A separate retreat adds another cozy spot to relax, complete with its own fireplace and coffee bar. Morning coffee without immediately heading to the kitchen? We can get behind that.
The bathroom continues the experience with heated tile floors, a steam shower with a heated bench, and a freestanding copper tub. Copper sinks, pebble accents, and a wood ceiling bring the lodge’s natural textures into the space.
Even the closets have been carefully considered, with custom organization, integrated lighting, and a washer and dryer in one of them. Sometimes luxury is a beautiful soaking tub, sometimes it’s putting away laundry without carrying it across the house.

Wait... There's Still More?
If you’ve been following the building process, you might remember that The Breckenridge Lodge is made up of two structures connected by outdoor living space under one roof.
The finished home makes that layout even more exciting. Across from the main house, the separate carriage house brings its own kitchen, guest suite, gathering hall, and upstairs spaces into the experience.
In the gathering hall, a 100-inch television is flanked by two 85-inch televisions, with a sports ticker below. Choosing which game to watch suddenly becomes much less of a problem.
There’s also a connection to the property’s history. Reclaimed wood from the original Simon Farm appears in the fireplace mantel and the barn beams framing the kitchen opening.
Upstairs, an exercise loft opens to an exterior deck, while a meditation room and cedar sauna offer a quieter way to recharge.
Take the Gathering Outside
The outdoor spaces are every bit as much a part of the home as the rooms inside. A covered living area features a fireplace, retractable screens, ceiling-mounted heaters, and fans that help make the space comfortable as the weather changes. A lift-up window connects to the separate carriage house kitchen, keeping food, drinks, and conversation flowing between the two.
The grill veranda adds another place to cook and gather, while the pool, hot tub, and separate firepit area give everyone a reason to head outside.
You can picture an afternoon by the pool turning into dinner on the veranda, followed by an evening around the fire. There’s no need to fit the whole day into one space when each area offers something different.

The Details Make it Home
A built-in bunk room makes sleepovers feel like a getaway. The office pairs brick walls with illuminated bookcases and a dramatic coffered ceiling. The mudroom includes custom lockers and a hidden charging station to help manage the things that come through the door every day.
Throughout the home, natural wood, stone, thoughtful lighting, and custom cabinetry connect rooms that each have a personality of their own.
That’s what makes the finished Breckenridge Lodge so rewarding to explore. The big spaces catch your attention, and the smaller details keep it.
